Rotary grind operator

As a Rotary Grind Operator at Mold Masters in Georgetown, you will be responsible for setting up and operating rotary grinders to produce high-precision components. Your expertise will ensure that all workpieces meet strict dimensional and quality standards, supporting our commitment to excellence in manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate rotary grinding machinery based on process sheets and blueprints.
  • Verify dimensions and specifications using gauges, micrometers, and indicators.
  • Mount and dress grinding wheels to ensure optimal performance.
  • Conduct in-process and final quality checks to maintain product standards.
  • Use hand tools and overhead hoists as needed for efficient operations.
  • Secure components with magnetic chucks or jigs for precise grinding.
  • Adjust machine controls for speed, feed rate, and wheel angle to meet specifications.
  • Perform minor preventative maintenance and troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Conduct water pressure tests on manifolds to ensure compliance with blueprints and standards.
  • Follow ISO guidelines, Job Instruction Sheets, and Tag Procedures to ensure safety and quality.
  • Collaborate with team members, provide training to apprentices, and suggest process improvements.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience or training in grinding operations.

Preferred Skills:

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, safety policies, and procedural manuals.
  • Problem-solving skills involving multiple variables in standardized situations.
