Robotic Process Automation Engineer

Description -

Job Summary

This role is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and optimization of next-generation automation solutions, combining Robotic Process Automation (RPA) with Artificial Intelligence (AI), Generative AI (GenAI), and Agentic Automation. The position oversees the design, development, testing, and orchestration of RPA bots and AI-powered agents, ensuring automation is not just task-based but context-aware, adaptive, and self-directed.

The role requires solving complex enterprise problems by embedding GenAI, Large Language Models (LLMs), and autonomous AI agents into workflows, driving cognitive, decision-making, and self-healing capabilities. Independently manages moderate to high-complexity automation programs, introduces AI copilots and agent-based orchestration, and ensures automation initiatives align with business strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of intelligent automation workflows combining RPA with AI/ML, GenAI, and autonomous agents.
  • Drive Agentic Automation initiatives, enabling digital workers/AI agents that can reason, decide, act, and collaborate across systems with minimal human intervention.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and prioritize processes suitable for AI-augmented and agent-driven automation, including customer support, finance, and IT operations.
  • Integrate LLMs (OpenAI GPT, Azure OpenAI, etc.) with RPA to create agentic copilots that can plan, execute, and adapt to changing contexts.
  • Continuously monitor and optimize AI agents and RPA bots, embedding self-learning and adaptive decision-making for resilience and scalability.
  • Prepare technical documentation including agent workflow designs, AI integration specs, and governance models.
  • Provide guidance to end-users and teams on interacting with autonomous AI agents and AI copilots.
  • Research and experiment with multi-agent systems, LangChain, AutoGen, and AI Orchestration frameworks to enhance enterprise automation maturity.
  • Support strategic plans by embedding AI + Agentic Automation into enterprise automation roadmaps, ensuring future-ready digital operations.
  •

Education & Experience

  • Four-year or Graduate Degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, Statistics, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  • 4–7 years of experience in RPA, AI/ML, or Intelligent Automation; or 3–5 years with an advanced degree.
  •

Preferred Certifications

  • RPA Tool Certifications ( Automation Anywhere, Power Automate).
  • AI/ML/GenAI Certifications (e.g., Azure AI Engineer, OpenAI/Generative AI specialization).
  • Programming Languages (Python, Java, C#, or similar).

Knowledge & Skills

  • Agentic Automation frameworks
  • Generative AI (ChatGPT, OpenAI APIs, Microsoft Copilot, Retrieval-Augmented Generation)
  • RPA Platforms ( Automation Anywhere)
  • AI/ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn)
  • Natural Language Processing & Cognitive Automation
  • Autonomous AI Agents & Multi-Agent Collaboration
  • Agile methodology and enterprise software engineering

Cross-Org Skills

  • Strategic Thinking in AI Adoption
  • Effective Communication of AI-driven value
  • Results Orientation
  • Digital Fluency in AI + Automation
  • Customer-Centric Innovation

Impact & Scope

  • Shapes enterprise strategy by embedding agentic, adaptive automation into operations.
  • Acts as a thought leader in AI-driven and agent-based automation adoption.
  • Impacts multiple business units by enabling digital workers that can think, act, and learn autonomously.

Complexity

  • Tackles highly complex and ambiguous business challenges by applying AI agents with reasoning, memory, and autonomy.
  • Balances delivery excellence with continuous experimentation in GenAI and Agentic Automation technologies.
