About the Role

We are now delivering routine maintenance and defect rectification works, and refurbishment and upgrade projects under a major long-term contract with the Victorian Government (Metropolitan Victorian Road Maintenance Contract (VRMC) - South Central Region).

We have opportunities for Road Maintenance Worker (Full-Time - Nightshift) to join our team in permanent roles based out of our Clayton and Frankston depots! Working under the direction of our Supervisors, in crews of 2-4 people, you will be critical in delivering services under this contract.

Key responsibilities:

  • Performing rapid response to incidents and emergencies across the network. 
  • Carrying out scheduled routine servicing and hazard and defect rectification works for pavements (Flocon), bridges and other structural assets, and all roadside assets (barriers, signage, vegetation).
  • Completing all works with a strong focus on safety, quality and efficiency.
  • Recording works-related data in the field, in line with work instructions, ensuring accuracy and completeness. 
  • Participating in daily pre-start and shift-close meetings, contributing ideas for changes and improvements in work practices to enhance safety and efficiency.

About you

  • Experience working as part of a crew maintaining pavements, bridges and other structural assets, and/or roadside assets (barriers, signage, vegetation). 
  • TMA experience preferred but not essential.
  • Road safety barrier (Guard Rail/WRSB) preferred.
  • Flocon operator/experience preferred
  • Ability to be a committed team player who drives for service excellence and continuous improvement.
  • A track record of working with a relentless focus on worker, road user and community safety.
  • High levels of self-motivation, exceptional time-management skills and a proven ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • Sound digital and data management skills, including familiarity with field applications for works management.
  • Formal qualifications (Cert III or higher) in civil construction are a bonus, but not essential if you can demonstrate equivalent knowledge and capability.
