The RN - Week Day - Ambulatory Surgery staff nurse coordinates total nursing care for the ACU patient, including but not limited to perioperative patients, endoscopy, minor procedures, transfusion/phlebotomy, and a variety of medication administrations, while providing patient education.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.
Minimum Required: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
Preferred/Optional: Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Minimum Required: Two years of Medical/Surgical nursing experience, or similar, within the past five years. Demonstrates excellence in customer service and professional conduct. Possesses good communication skills. Interacts appropriately and positively with peers, patients, families, physicians, and professionals. Maintains professionalism in the community, protects the confidentiality of the patient and services as a patient advocate at all times.
Knowledge and skill to provide appropriate care to patients of all ages. Able to function adequately under stressful conditions. Able to seriously analyze patient flow and recognize the importance of preplanning.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.
Minimum Required: Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Michigan. BCLS required within 30 days of hire. Conscious sedation certification within 3 months of hire or transfer.
Preferred/Optional: ACLS certification, PALS certification.
