Cleveland Clinic Staffing Resources (CCSR) gives you the opportunity to care for patients in various Critical Care Units. As an RN Retiree, you will leverage your extensive knowledge to support the nursing care team. You will cycle between multiple locations, including Martin North, Martin South and Tradition. Your work will focus on alleviating administrative task-based responsibilities to enhance their ability to deliver exceptional care and facilitate a healing, welcoming environment for patients and families. In this role, you will also interact with patients, allowing you to continue sharing your love for caregiving with the world.
A caregiver in this position works varying shifts between 7:00AM – 7:30PM or 7:00PM – 7:30AM. Floating between Martin North, Martin South and Tradition Hospitals is required, as needed.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide coaching, teaching and educational material as appropriate.
Assess and coordinate admission and discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
Assess the educational needs of patients and significant others.
Provide direct nursing care.
Monitor and document patient condition and effectiveness/timeliness of care and/or interventions.
Evaluate, update and revise plan of care to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomes.
Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
Validate and document patient and family understanding of teaching.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
Three years of experience as an RN before retirement
Demonstrated clinical competence
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certifications through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross upon hire in the Emergency Department
Completion of a Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC - adult) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC - pediatric) upon hire in the Emergency Department or dedicated Trauma Centers
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and walk for periods of time.
Ability to sit at a computerized workstation for extended periods. May require full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
Possible exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids. Medium Work – May include exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
