24Registered Nurse – Preadmissions
Location: 1st Floor Legacy Building | La Crosse, WI
FTE: 0.6 FTE | 48 hours per two weeks
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM | Rotating days off, no weekends, holidays, or call obligations
Starting Pay: $30.46/hour (higher based on experience) + comprehensive benefits
Travel: Occasional travel to Winona (approx. 2x/month)

About the Role
As a Preadmissions RN, you’ll play a vital role in preparing patients for surgeries and procedures. This position focuses on patient education and coordination rather than hands-on care, making it ideal for nurses who excel in organization and interpersonal communication.
What You’ll Do
Conduct phone calls and in-person visits to review pre-op instructions, verify medications, and ensure chart accuracy.
Collaborate with providers (MDs and APCs) for complex cases.
Prepare charts prior to visits and provide nurse-only patient education.
Work closely with multiple departments, including OR, surgery clinics, anticoagulation, pharmacy, and social work.
Participate in department-based projects and cross-training opportunities (e.g., perioperative anticoagulation management).
This position is based with La Crosse, with option to work occasionally out of the Onalaska SSB building. Travel to Winona up to twice per month.
What We’re Looking For
Must-Have:
Associate Degree in Nursing (minimum)
Active RN license in Wisconsin; Minnesota RN license within 90 days of hire
Basic Life Support for Health Care Provider CPR
Preferred:
Minimum 1 year of RN experience, preferably in surgical, perioperative, or med/surg areas
Ability to work across multiple specialties and navigate complex organizational structures
Strong teamwork and communication skills; ability to manage workload and delegate effectively
Adaptability and situational awareness to meet patient needs both in-person and over the phone
Proactive, collaborative attitude
