Scheduled Weekly Hours:
20Registered Nurse (RN) – Palliative Care Clinic
Location: La Crosse, WI | 1st Floor, East Building
FTE: Part-time, 0.5 FTE (40 hours per two weeks)
Hours: 8-hour day shifts between the hours of 0730-1630, Monday through Friday
Practice Nursing with Purpose
This clinic-based RN role offers the opportunity to support patients living with serious illness through whole-person, goal-aligned care. As part of an interdisciplinary palliative care team, you will partner closely with clinicians, social work, and spiritual care to support patients and families throughout their care journey—addressing symptoms, education needs, and coordination across settings.
This role blends clinical expertise with strong communication and organizational skills and is ideal for nurses who value collaboration, continuity, and patient-centered care.
What You’ll Do
Support patients and families through coordination of care, including appointments, referrals, hospice collaboration, and communication with cancer center and specialty teams
Serve as a key nursing resource for patients via telephone and in-basket messaging
Conduct in-person clinic visits as appropriate, including:
Patient and family education
Pain and symptom assessment
Support with pain agreements and symptom management plans
Participate in weekly interdisciplinary group (IDG) meetings to review care plans and share insights across disciplines
Contribute to a team environment grounded in communication, accountability, and trust
What You’ll Bring
Required Qualifications
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
Active RN licensure in the state of Wisconsin (or ability to obtain upon hire)
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers
Preferred Qualifications
Prior RN experience in clinic, oncology, hospice, palliative care, or care-focused specialties
Strong communication skills and comfort supporting patients primarily through non-face-to-face interactions
Ability to work effectively in a small, highly collaborative team
Organized, dependable, and follow-through driven
