Job Duties:

​​The Geisinger School of Nursing faculty provide didactic and clinical instruction to groups of students according to regulatory and accreditation standards and guidelines.  Ensures excellent student experiences by optimizing educational interactions in alignment with our purpose, mission, and vision.

​A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) is required. MSN is required within 5 years of start date.

Job Duties:

  • Participates in curriculum development and the review and maintenance of course objectives and syllabi.  Provision and evaluation of both didactic, simulation/lab, and clinical instruction.
  • Supervise assistant faculty, adjunct clinical faculty, clinical instructors, and preceptors for clinical experiences associated with courses.  Conduct frequent debriefs and evaluation of clinical instruction effectiveness, as well as student clinical development, in collaboration with all clinical instructors to ensure course objectives are being met.
  • Conducts educational experiences and teaching in alignment with end of program student learning objectives, state and accreditation standards, and school philosophy.
  • Engages as student advisor and offers ongoing student support through the availability of office hours.  Supports recruitment and retention efforts.
  • Participation in institutional engagement and advancement through committee participation, institutional activities, and other job duties as assigned by the Director or Associate Dean.  
  • Maintains a positive work and learning environment by fostering professional and respectful relationships with students, faculty, staff, and all clinical sites.
  • Engage in on-going professional development: continuing education programs, conferences, maintaining expertise in clinical specialty, and participation in scholarly and community outreach activities.

Education:

Bachelor's Degree-Nursing (Required), Master's Degree-Nursing (Preferred)

Experience:

Minimum of 1 year-Nursing (Preferred)

Certification(s) and License(s):

Basic Life Support Certification - Default Issuing Body, Licensed Registered Nurse (Pennsylvania) - RN_State of Pennsylvania
