Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY

The Registered Nurse Radiology utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate comprehensive care to clients and their families in need of diagnostic radiological procedures. The nurse functions as a physician extender in providing therapies, related education, and telephone triage.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.

Minimum Required: Graduate of accredited school of nursing.

Preferred/Optional: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

EXPERIENCE 

Minimum Required: Minimum of one year Acute Care Nursing or three years’ general nursing experience.

Preferred/Optional: Procedural, sedation and recovery experience strongly preferred.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES 

The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position.  Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.

Minimum Required:

• Current State of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or Nurse Compact License.
• Basic Life Support (BLS), and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire.
• Additional department-specific certifications, licenses, or memberships may be required (varies by department/location).

Preferred/Optional:

• Basic Life Support (BLS), and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.
• Membership in the American Radiological Nurses Association (ARNA).
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
