Minimum Qualifications:
Education, general: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Associate’s degree in Nursing, Diploma RN, or Master’s degree in Nursing.
Must be a graduate of an accredited RN nursing program
Minimum of one (1) year of Registered Nursing experience
Valid Registered Nursing License
Excellent communication skills.
Strong work ethics and accountability
Basic computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
Oncology Nursing Experience
Current BLS, National Nursing Certification

Responsibilities:
Provides comprehensive nursing care including assessment, triage, and clinical evaluation of head and neck oncology/surgical patients in the clinic and peri-procedure environments.
Collects and documents patient assessment data — vital signs, history, symptoms, and other clinical findings.
Administers medications and treatments per provider orders and in compliance with the Arkansas Nurse Practice Act.
Develops and implements individualized plans of care (POC) using assessment data, clinician directives, and patient needs.
Evaluates patients’ progress toward health and recovery goals and modify care plans as needed.
Coordinates care across interdisciplinary teams — working with surgeons, fellows, providers, and clinic staff — to ensure seamless patient care and transitions between outpatient, inpatient, and follow-up settings.
Facilitates referrals, appointment scheduling, follow-ups, and communication with external providers or diagnostic services.
Maintains accurate and timely documentation of care in the electronic medical record (EMR) and report significant changes in patient status or safety concerns.
Provides tailored education to patients and families on complex conditions, surgical preparation and recovery, wound care, pain management, nutrition concerns, tracheostomy care, and other oncology-specific needs.
Supports understanding of care plans and self-management strategies after clinic visits or minor procedures.
Participates in performance improvement initiatives, evidence-based practice, and quality assurance activities to optimize nursing care and clinic workflows.
Ensures care is consistent with standards from UAMS, the American Nurses Association (ANA), and regulatory bodies (e.g., Arkansas State Board of Nursing).
Collaborates within the interdisciplinary team to support patient- and family-centered care principles.
Contributes to a positive clinical environment, serving as a resource for peers, students, and staff.
May perform other duties as assigned.
