The Main Campus Emergency Department treats over 61,000 patients annually, providing a critical link to healthcare for our community, the region and the world (through Cleveland Clinic Critical Care Transport).
As an RN, you will assist fellow caregivers in facilitating a healing and supportive experience, from initial admission to final send-off. In this role, you will interact directly with patients, families and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and provide pertinent medical education as needed. Additionally, the Cleveland Clinic system provides nurses with many professional development resources, including furthering education and online/in-person courses to enhance your skills.
A caregiver in this position works varying shifts.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide direct nursing care.
Implement and monitor patient care plans.
Monitor, record and communicate patients’ conditions.
Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN)
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR the American Red Cross
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross upon hire or within one year of beginning work in the Emergency Department
Completion of a Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC – adult) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC – pediatric) within two years of hire
External applicants: two years of recent related nursing experience
Internal applicants with less than two years’ experience, but post orientation/90-day probationary period, could be considered with the Chief Nursing Officer level review and approval
Will consider licensed military RN experience
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
