RN Educator is a nurse who, through clinical experience, study and supervise practice in patient care and has gained expertise in a specific specialty area of patient care services.

Position is for VIR Nursing

• Demonstrates the advanced knowledge and skills required for specialty nursing in peri-procedural nursing care, conscious sedation, PACU nursing, and critical care.
• Responsible and accountable for the development and application of specialty practice standards, staff development, regulatory compliance and research to enhance the quality of care to the patient and the patient’s family.
• The RN Educator is essential to the management of complex patient and systems related issues.

• Master degree in Nursing preferred. Must hold current New York State Registered Nurse registration and certification or eligible for licensure in New York State.
• Demonstrated clinical competence and in depth knowledge in specialty area.
• Creates a collegial and collaborative environment among all members of the healthcare team. Demonstrated effective leadership, teaching, research and communication skills.
• Demonstrates responsibility and accountability for decisions. Utilizes problem-solving and decision-making skills. Coaches and mentors staff. Researches and develops specialty specific practice standards and communicates them to other staff in their area of specialty.
• Ability to identify problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to improve job performance through continuing education.
