Job Description

The Cath Lab Recovery Team at Memorial City is hiring an experienced RN for their team. We recover patients coming out of noninvasive cardiology, neurology and interventional radiology procedures. The team recovers general anesthesia and moderate sedation patients. There is sheath pulling, trans-radial access care, some cardiovascular drips, a lot of discharge teaching post procedure for heart stents, structural cases, drain placements, and diagnostic neurology care.

Our unit is unique in that although we are considered a PACU, the skill set the nurses have supersedes the skills sets of other PACU’s. We are a tight knit team that works very close, and very well together. The nurses have skills in groin sheath pulling, ACT monitoring, TR Band access care, arterial line removal, monitoring patients for acute changes post heart, body or brain procedure, rapidly acting when a patient decompensates, and they are now caring for ICU holds.

Ideal candidate: 2+ years of ICU, ER, or CV PACU experience with ACLS, BLS, and BSN. CV BC certification is preferred but not required.

Schedule: 3 days a week starting at 0900. Closing time does vary between 7pm and midnight but may be slightly later. Closing depends on volume, and average closing time is 9pm. The days of week will vary, and at this time there is no on-call required. However, in July expect to be able to be on-call one weekend (rotating) every 4 weeks. No major holidays or weekends.

We Offer:

  • We offer many opportunities to cross train on our unit with bedside procedures, weekend CTA nurse, charge nurse, or even cross train in pre procedure and in pre admit testing.
