The Oncology Clinic RN Coordinator will consistently work with a specific oncology team to focus on patient care coordination and create smooth transitions from one stage of therapy to the next for the patient. Oncology experience is required, ambulatory preferred.
The Ambulatory Clinic RN Coordinator will coordinate all clinical care within clinics to maximize safety, patient and co-worker satisfaction and quality outcomes. Will work with a specific multidisciplinary disease team to deliver quality and safety of care through the continuum of care during the patients time here at MUSC. Job duties include utilizing the nursing process (Assessment, Diagnosis, Planning, Implementation & Evaluation) in coordinating care for patients in the clinic setting. This includes order entry, EPIC inbasket management, patient education, care planning, ensuring patient appointments are made, and working closely with the RN Navigator between systems, locations, and types of therapy (Rad/Onc, Surgery, Chemotherapy, Palliative Care, Survival). They will also work closely with the other clinical team members (Providers, APPs, CMAs, LPNs, RNs, Pharmacists, etc.) and coordinate care appropriately during clinic.
Bachelor’s degree in nursing required and three years related nursing experience. Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state. Some positions require certification as a generalist in a related specialty area by the American Nurses Association (ANA). Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required
