Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree, Associate’s Degree, or Diploma RN, with Major: Registered Nurse.
Minimum of one (1) year of RN experience
Valid Registered Nursing License
Current BLS
Will obtain ACLS
Additional Information:
Coordinates and participates in the surgical recovery of bone tissue for transplantation or research, ensuring strict adherence to aseptic technique and regulatory standards.
Conducts thorough donor medical history reviews and physical assessments to evaluate eligibility for bone procurement in compliance with FDA, AATB, and institutional guidelines.
Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams including surgeons, pathologists, and transplant coordinators to ensure timely and safe procurement processes.
Maintains accurate and detailed documentation of all procurement procedures, including donor identification, consent verification, and chain of custody.
Ensure proper labeling, packaging, and transport of recovered bone tissues to maintain tissue integrity and traceability.
Monitors and manages inventory of procurement supplies and equipment, ensuring readiness for recovery procedures and adherence to sterile processing protocols.
Provides education and support to families and hospital staff regarding the donation process, ensuring compassionate communication during sensitive situations.
Participates in quality assurance and continuous improvement activities, including audits, reporting deviations, and attending training to stay current with industry best practices.
May perform other duties as assigned.
