In our dynamic Vascular Medicine team, you’ll play a key role in providing expert, compassionate care to patients with vascular conditions in an outpatient setting. As part of this collaborative and patient-focused environment, our nurses support both clinical visits and specialized vascular procedures, helping patients achieve the best possible outcomes and quality of life. 

What You’ll Do: 

  • Provide hands-on nursing care for patients during outpatient visits and vascular procedures 

  • Assist with and support procedures such as: 

  • Sclerotherapy 

  • Laser vein ablations 

  • Phlebectomies 

  • Deliver skilled care and education in our Wound Care Clinic 

  • Prepare patients for procedures performed with oral anxiety medication only (no sedation) 

  • Collaborate with an expert interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, seamless, and compassionate care

A caregiver in this position works Monday through Friday, (4x10-hour shifts), 7:00am—5:30pm. No weekends/holidays. 

 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Provide professional nursing care in an ambulatory setting.  

  • Assess health status, complete nursing assessments, perform telephone triage, and establish care plans.  

  • Administer medication and treatments.  

  • Initiate CPR and other emergency measures.  

  • Notify the physician and/or Licensed Independent Provider (LIP) of abnormal findings. 

  • Assist with specialized diagnostic procedures, therapeutic procedures, and specialized patient care equipment. 

  • Develop, evaluate, adapt and document health education and provide it to patients and families.  

  • Cover other nursing roles within the department.  

  • Travel within the region to support physician clinics and surgical procedures, as needed. 

 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing (ADN or BSN program) 

  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)  

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) 

  • One year of recent experience as an RN OR LPN, Medical Assistant and/or other unlicensed clinical healthcare experience if applicant is a current Cleveland Clinic caregiver in an ambulatory setting transferring into an RN role but remaining in the same current ambulatory Cleveland Clinic setting OR a current Cleveland Clinic caregiver in a clinical role within the same specialty area transferring into an ambulatory area  

 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good hand-eye coordination, involves extensive standing, walking and occasional lifting.          
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.         
  • Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.       
  • Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids.              
  • Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.  
  • Physical requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.    

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
