Cleveland Clinic’s M71 Acute Care Lymphoma and Myeloma Unit cares for adult patients undergoing targeted cancer and radiation therapies. This dedicated team is focused on diagnosing and treating many various malignancies and hematologic diseases and is at the forefront of new, emerging clinical trials and cancer research. Many caregivers in this unit have become chemotherapy competent and received chemo/biotherapy certifications.  

 
A caregiver in this position works day/night rotation, 7:00am—7:30pm or 7:00pm—7:30am.  

 
A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Provide direct nursing care. 

  • Implement and monitor patient care plans.  

  • Monitor, record and communicate patients’ conditions.  

  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.  

  • Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs. 

 
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing  

  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)  

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) 

  • External applicants: two years of recent related nursing experience  

  • Internal applicants with less than two years’ experience, but post orientation/90-day probationary period, could be considered with the Chief Nursing Officer level review and approval 

  • Will consider military RN experience 

 
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

  • Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN)
