Job Description & Summary

As a risk management generalist at PwC, you will provide advisory and practical support to teams across a wide range of specialist risk and compliance areas.

Requirements 

  • Must be a Namibian Citizen.

  • Must have a Law Degree or completed legal articles (attach documentation) will be an advantage. 

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience within the Risk & Quality environment, including at least 3 years in a supervisory role. 

  • Previous auditing experience is advantageous. 

  • Must have an interest in continuous learning and upskilling, particularly in technology trends and new tools, with adaptability to evolving ways of working. 

  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy, with proven experience in data analysis.  

  • Client service-oriented, capable of effectively interacting with partners and staff at all levels within the firm.  

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.  

  • Ability to work independently while thriving in a collaborative team environment.  

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence in engaging stakeholders including partners, managers, and staff. 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Duties

 

Lead and manage the Risk & Quality team to ensure effective risk management, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance to achieve the following outcomes:  

  • Support the Namibian office and Risk & Quality Partner with all risk-related matters and ad hoc projects.  

  • Act as Security Lead for the firm, provide operational support including vendor onboarding, and assist with business continuity management. 

  • Coordinate and assist with firm reviews, regulatory inspections, and submissions (Locally, Global and PAAB). Partner with the FIA Compliance Officer to ensure Know Your Client (KYC) procedures are complete and updated for all clients, aligned with local laws and Global PwC policies. 

  • Monitor and enforce compliance with laws, regulations, PwC network standards, and Ethics policies.  

  • Develop and deliver training and communication programs to raise awareness of risk and quality issues. 

  • Manage day-to-day Risk & Quality activities, including Acceptance and Continuance reviews and Independence compliance (sponsorships clearances, JBRs). 

  • Prepare Risk Management Alerts. 

  • Assist with business proposals and contribute to winning new work by guiding teams through potential risk issues and recommending effective solutions. 

  • Collaborate with PwC firms across borders, OGC, and third parties to address risk and regulatory considerations. 

  • Support audit client onboarding/offboarding processes and conduct ad hoc tax engagement compliance reviews. 

  • Prepare reports for partners and OpCo meetings on risk status and projects. 

  • Working with third parties in alliances and joint business relationships – supporting teams through the risk and regulatory considerations. 

  • Management document destruction processes. 

  • Staff management, coaching and development of the Risk & Quality team.
