Make your mark in Enterprise Risk Management
As well as helping customers to manage risks, AIG faces a wide array of our own risks every day. The Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) team partners across the AIG organization to inform strategic decision-making and to facilitate rational risk-taking that drives profitable growth. ERM ensures we have the right tools, processes and systems in place to identify, measure and manage our risks. As an ERM colleague, you can enhance your acumen by helping to shape and support our approach to risk.
How you will create an impact
Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer – Global Head of Insurance Risk, the Risk Officer – Actuarial Independent Review will lead in lead the Actuarial Independent Review team in addition to the responsibilities listed below.
Drive the independent review of AIG Policyholder Liabilities by collaborating with various global actuarial teams and documenting/presenting the results for various boards and committees.
Drive in the independent review for selected high priority Pricing and Underwriting Models and communicate the model review findings to Enterprise Risk Management leadership, Actuarial, Underwriting and other key stakeholders.
Assist with developing model governance policies and model risk reporting standards.
Provide insight and support for technical review of other non-actuarial models when requested.
Mentor and manage a high performing team of professionals and bring an inclusive perspective to the workplace. Promote professional and technical skill development within the team.
Support various training and skill development initiatives across AIG.
What you will need to succeed
University undergraduate degree and a Fellow of Casualty Actuary Society or equivalent.
A minimum of 15 years specializing in actuarial and/or risk management ideally with experience from a property and casualty (re)insurer or a consulting background if the requisite management and industry experience are evident.
Strong analytical skills, knowledge of drivers of risk and knowledge of the insurance market.
Ability to build proactive working relationships with stakeholders across various departments and effect change through use of influencing skills.
Proven ability to maintain independent perspective and challenge management on risk-related decisions.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to convey complex findings to diverse stakeholders. The ability to communicate complex matters in a simple and clear manner.
