Overview of the role:
The successful candidate will be supporting the Risk Head at R&C Marketing to manage the risk profile by providing risk management strategies, tools, methodologies, measuring and reporting on the risk exposures across the end-to-end value chain. This entails capabilities across Digital Marketing, Direct Marketing, Insights & Analytics, Sponsorships, Events, Brand Identity and brand strategy execution across Personal, Private, Commercial segments and Broader Africa.
You will be responsible to:
- Support the Risk Head in managing the functional operational risk management programmes.
- Understand business tools, processes and systems in order to provide required risk guidance.
- Examine, verify, evaluate and report on operational and managerial processes, systems and outcomes to ensure integrity and compliance.
- Assist in business process reviews, risk assessments, developing deliverables and reporting progress against outcomes.
- Develop, implement and maintain PRCIA’s (Process Risk and Control Identification and Assessment)
- Implement and monitor operational risk control plans, focusing on key controls and risk themes.
- Identify and assess operational risks across R&C Marketing processes, projects, and third-party engagements
- Prepare clear and concise operational risk reports for governance forums.
- Develop and implement KRI’s and capture on Open Pages.
- Capture Operational losses and events on Open Pages.
- Manage outsourcing. Identify vendors with a materiality of medium to high - to be completed on Open Pages and KY3P tool
- Drive a combined assurance approach by collaborating with line management and internal audit.
- Verify audit findings and ensure it has been closed off by business.
- Conduct control testing activities, aligning to key and critical controls identified in the business.
- Provide input into the completion of risk scenarios and risk appetites
- Development and facilitation of comprehensive risk assurance plans that cover the assessment of key controls and health checks triggered by external events or identified hotspots for control weaknesses.
- Align with the requirements set out in the FirstRand combined assurance standard.
- Ensure that operational risk related findings arising from GIA, MCOE or other assurance providers are tracked through to resolution.
- Develop, encourage and nurture collaborative relationships across business areas and across the group.
- Keep abreast of relevant risk developments externally and ensure it is considered in the risk profile for the business
- Ensure development of appropriate solutions to identify losses and risk exposures and facilitate the effective implementation thereof
You will be an ideal candidate if you have:
- Have a relevant Postgraduate or BCom Degree
- Have at least 5 years' experience in Risk Management
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in risk management systems, data analytics, process mapping and reporting tools.
- Previous working experience in cross-functional environments.
