We make health happen:

At Bupa, everything we do is about helping people live longer, healthier, happier lives and making a better world. As a Risk & Incident Specialist, you’ll help protect what matters most — the safety of our customers, our people, and the way we operate.

You’ll play a vital role in strengthening our risk and incident management activities across UKI Operations. By supporting our Risk & Incident Executives and wider leadership teams, you’ll help us stay ahead of regulatory expectations and maintain a strong control environment. You’ll also be directly contributing to fair customer outcomes by making sure conduct risk is well‑managed and issues are escalated and understood quickly.

This is your opportunity to support a function with real impact, shaping how we identify, assess and manage risks — all while helping teams make well‑informed decisions that keep customer needs front and centre.

How you’ll help us make health happen:

  • Support the oversight and maturity of assurance activity across UKI Operations, aligned to our Risk Management Framework.
  • Maintain and update risk registers, ensuring risks and controls are assessed regularly and actions are tracked to completion.
  • Support with process‑control walkthroughs, helping teams understand regulatory impact and strengthen their controls.
  • Help educate teams on risk and compliance — including how to mitigate risks, manage incidents and review control effectiveness.
  • Coordinate and support audit programmes, including preparing information, reviewing findings and driving action closure.
  • Maintain a portfolio of controls testing, identifying weaknesses and recommending improvements.
  • Manage the incident portfolio (Severity 1 & 2), including triage, root cause analysis and improvement planning to prevent recurrence.
  • Work closely with central 1st line teams to identify emerging risks, ensuring consistency across BINS and BISL.
  • Support reporting activities by providing clear commentary and insight on assurance performance.

Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:

  • Experience within the FCA and/or broader Financial Services regulatory environment would be ideal.
  • Strong understanding of operational and conduct risk management is essential.
  • Experience of incident management and root cause analysis is essential.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to influence discussions through clear, solutions‑focused advice.
  • Demonstrable experience of working with risk and control frameworks.
  • Highly organised, proactive and comfortable working with competing priorities.
