The Role:
If you are at the beginning of your career and are interested in Fraud Prevention in the ever-changing world of payments, this is the role for you. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for detecting and preventing fraudulent activities, conducting investigations, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. You will utilize a variety of tools and methods to identify fraud patterns, reduce risk, and protect SumUp and our merchants from criminal activity.
What you'll do:
- Monitor and analyze customer transactions to detect fraudulent activities and trends, preventing financial loss for the company.
- Manage fraud-related notifications from processors, acquirers, and external PSPs.
- Propose process improvements, based on established best practices, to identify and address risks effectively.
- Exercise sound judgment in line with company values and established policies and procedures.
- Support daily operational functions by addressing Risk and Anti-fraud inquiries from clients and internal business channels.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to monitor and manage fraud incidents across various products and channels.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in fraud prevention and share knowledge with the team.
You'll be great for this position if:
- You have a good understanding of the payment cycle and the different methods by which payments are processed.
- You have knowledge of Seller and Buyer Fraud Tactics, as well as Anti-Money Laundering and Data Privacy best practices.
- You have excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) in English.
- You possess strong analytical skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment.
- You have intermediate experience with Word and Excel (experience with Salesforce is a plus).
- You have a "critical thinking" mindset—you enjoy suggesting smarter alternatives.
- You are organized, independent, and comfortable working on varying shifts.
