RFP Trainee

We are seeking a university student (business, finance, economics, law, or similar) for an 18-months internship at Neuberger Berman. The trainee will be part of the Global RFP team and coordinate requests for proposals (RFP’s) and due diligence questionnaires (DDQ’s), mainly in Word and Excel, to help the business win and retain our client assets. This is an opportunity to join a highly dynamic, highly collaborative international team located in London, New York, Hong Kong and Tokyo.

The position will suit an enthusiastic person who prides themselves on their ability to write, multi-task, problem-solve and demonstrates a thorough attention to detail. The role would provide an excellent opportunity for a candidate to learn about the world of investment management as the team interacts with all areas of the business.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Responsible for coordinating and completing RFPs, due diligence, and requests from EMEA and other international based client coverage channels
  • Support the increasing number of online RFPs (completion and upload on RFP portals).
  • Help colleagues within the Global RFP team to ensure deadlines are met while following the team’s multi-step RFP process
  • Support the team and the RFP Business Manager with organization projects related to the RFP database of standard responses, management reporting, or automation such as the use of the internal genAI tool.

Key Requirements / Qualifications (essential unless stated)

  • Excellent team player, able to work in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment as part of a team
  • Strong time management, planning and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, ability to communicate effectively with team members, senior investment professionals and client coverage colleagues
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Solutions-oriented, able to propose ideas to improve processes
  • Experience working with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint  
  • Experience in a marketing or client service role at an asset management firm preferred
  • Basic understanding of financial markets and interest in investment management
  • Curious and willing to learn about the industry
