ADI’s Aerospace and Defense (ADEF) group designs RF/Microwave products ranging from 1GHz up to 110GHz for commercial, military, and space applications.  Products include receivers, transmitters, low spur/phase noise synthesizers (DDS and indirect), high-power GaN amplifiers, and multifunction assemblies.

Analog Devices is seeking to hire a product engineer to support the development of RF/microwave assemblies to be used in aerospace and defense applications. This exciting role will offer the opportunity to work with and learn from some of our top industry leading RF and microwave professionals. The product engineer will learn from and collaborate with other engineering disciplines to include mechanical engineers, digital engineers, test engineers, and RF/microwave circuit design engineers as well as technicians and manufacturing support personnel.

The candidate is responsible for project management and production support activities pertaining to up-screening and qualification of custom MMIC die, packaged microcircuit, and packaged hybrid products for Space and Military applications; The position also requires the candidate to take a leadership position within the group which includes technical management of key customers, mentoring of engineers within the team, and driving resolution of complex technical issues that arise during production.

Specific responsibilities include creation of production documentation (electrical test procedures, burn-in & test fixture schematics, BOMs & routings, assembly drawings), electrical test & data review, electrical & thermal analyses, and test report creation. This position requires the candidate to interface with customers, sales & quality departments, process engineers, MMIC designers, production control, and production assembly/test technicians throughout all program phases of design and production.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform ATP and DVT tests and summarize/communicate test results in the form of reports that could be shared with internal stakeholders and customers.
  • Lead breadboard testing of components during the prototype phase and make design recommendations.
  • Lead product qualification and any related activities.
  • Support failure analysis through validation and determination of the root cause analysis.
  • Support product engineering assignments.
  • Must be able to format, analyze, and reach valid conclusions from data and be able to present process/product improvement recommendations to the product team as required.  Document and present findings, for development, sustaining, and customer product support as required.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • BS/MS Degree in Electrical Engineering with 4+ years of experience.
  • U.S. citizenship.
  • Firm grasp of the basic concepts of analog RF and microwave electronics.
  • Familiarity with RF test equipment such as oscilloscopes, network & spectrum analyzers, power meters, switching matrix.
  • Familiar with RF measurements, such as: compression (P1dB), phase noise, gain, spurious emissions, S parameter measurements.
  • Strong troubleshooting, reworking, and judgmental skills
  • Strong written and communication skills.
  • Great organization skills.
  • Rigorous attention to detail.
  • Team oriented focus.
  • Excellent analytical skills: critical thinking, problem solving and data analysis.

The expected wage range for a new hire into this position is $108,800 to $149,600.
  • Actual wage offered may vary depending on work location, experience, education, training, external market data, internal pay equity, or other bona fide factors.
