Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Radar/RF Engineer / Software Developer to join our team! In this role you will get to be part of a team performing modeling and simulation of defensive weapon systems of peer/near-peer adversaries. The principal focus will be on surface-to-air missile (SAM) systems comprising RF sensors; target acquisition and tracking; 6-DOF missile flyout, command, and seeker endgame; network-centric warfare techniques; command-and-control (C2/C4); and advanced RF techniques.

*While this position is posted as a Level 2 role, we are open to considering candidates with senior-level experience and qualifications. The final level and responsibilities will be determined based on the skills, experience, and expertise of the selected candidate.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Participate in the design, development, testing, and maintenance of software models that simulate and/or emulate real-world adversarial Surface-to-Air Missile (SAM) systems within TMAP STIMS 2.0STIMS 3.0, and/or LIVE modeling frameworks

  • Perform subsystem and system-level modeling and simulation derived from all-source intelligence data

  • Address intelligence gaps using expertise in weapon systems, waveforms, signal processing, probability of detection/intercept, electronic warfare, antennas, and electromagnetics, and analyze and implement EO/IR techniques

  • Develop algorithms and techniques for active/passive detection, signal processing chains, clutter mitigation, electronic attack, waveform selection/scheduling, and adaptive beamforming

  • Conduct engineering analysis of real-world threat weapon systems, supplementing all available all-source intelligence assessments to inform the software model lifecycle, including development, maintenance, and study support

  • Understand and track software model requirements to ensure alignment with customer objectives

  • Analyze real-world threat weapon system characteristics, capabilities, and limitations, and develop digital twin representations of those systems

  • Develop software using MATLAB/SIMULINK, C/C++, and/or Python to create high-fidelity models and simulations

  • Participate in technical discussions to support near- and long-term planning for model development and integration

  • Interpret engineering designs provided by the customer and collaborate with the team to develop software models that accurately represent weapon systems at the required fidelity level

Required Clearance:

  • Candidate must be a US Citizen

  • Candidate must possess an ACTIVE Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret / SCI clearance with Counterintelligence polygraph

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 5+ years of experience, OR Master’s Degree with 3+ years of experience, OR Ph.D. with 1+ years of experience

  • Strong programming skills in C++, Python, MATLAB/Simulink

  • Subject matter expertise in RF propagation, signal processing, track filtering, antenna design, communications, radar systems, missile/seeker, passive radar, electronic support, and/or electronic attack

  • Experience with modeling and simulation of weapons systems including Radar, Directed Energy Weapons, Surface-to-Air Missile Systems, RF Jammers, Missile Seekers, and/or Anti-Satellite weapons


What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • EO/IR experience

  • Experience with threat weapon system model modeling in TMAP, ODESSA, ESAMS, AFSIM, LIVE and/or ITASE

  • Experience with STIMS 2.0 (Simulink), STIMS 3.0 (C++), and/or LIVE modeling frameworks/standards

  • Software development in a DevOps or DevSecOps environment

  • Experience working in an AGILE software development team

  • Mentoring experience

  • Experience designing, developing, or operating code for a distributed processing environment

  • Experience with working with environmental datasets and RF propagation

  • TS/SCI Clearance

An active Secret security clearance is required for this position.​

Salary Range: $100,900.00 - $176,600.00
