$22.50 - $33.75Major Responsibilities:
Perform charge reconciliation activities
Review and verify patient charges captured in the billing or charge review system
Reviews, analyzes and investigates discrepancies in charges. Makes requested and necessary changes for professional and/or hospital charges
Assists in developing procedures that will utilize system capabilities. Identifies opportunities and recommends system enhancements for charge capture and reconciliation functions.
Monitors Epic Workqueues to investigate and processes charges accordingly
Acts as a department resource regarding charge entry and charge capture
Reviews, interprets, analyzes medical record documentation to ensure accurate charge capture
Responsible for running and exporting reports (charge reconciliation, productivity, missing charges, etc.) from revenue cycle systems (BI Launchpad, Epic) to assist with trending and identification of charge improvement opportunities
Prepares appropriate communications and status updates to charge integrity stakeholders. Anticipates and responds to information relevant to key stakeholders.
Recommends improvement/modification to charge reconciliation workflow as needed.
Reviews and monitors financial outcomes related to charge integrity opportunities identified
Seeks assignments and special projects from Revenue Integrity Leadership to facilitate growth

Education Requirements:
High School Graduate or equivalent
Experience Requirements:
Typically requires 2 years of experience in health care, preferably revenue cycle operations
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
Physician revenue cycle operations and billing systems
Excellent, effective written and verbal communications skills. Excellent public relations skills. Ability to work well within a team atmosphere
Ability to work independently in a remote environment
Critical thinking skills. Strong analytic skills, with high attention to detail.
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to successfully and positively interact with individuals across all hierarchical levels within the organization, as well as outside partners (e.g., insurance/payer representatives)
Knowledge of Physician reimbursement, hospital managed care contracts; government payer reimbursement regulations
Knowledge and experience using physician clinical systems and Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PPT, Outlook, etc.)
Knowledge of medical terminology
Knowledge of Physician coding: ICD10, HCPCS, CPT, Revenue Codes, DRGs; experience with Physician charge description masters (CDMs)
Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
