The listed pay range or pay rate reflects compensation for a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) position. Actual compensation may differ depending on assigned hours and position status (e.g., part-time).

Position Overview

The role is the internal business parter for a wide range of Revenue Cycle departmental needs, projects, and essential functions including managing cross departmental requests, acting as the liaison to IT to aid in data integrity, accuracy, and performance of revenue cycle application systems. This role focuses on organization and collaboration to optimize system configuration, clearinghouse functions, and supporting key processes that directly impact reimbursement accuracy and operational efficiency. Directly supports leadership meetings, implementations, and needed change control as it pertains to Revenue Cycle applications, both internal and external.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education:    Bachelor's degree or combination of education and relevant experience, minimum of three years in Revenue Cycle operations, and/or Healthcare systems administration.
Experience:    Three years in Revenue Cycle operations, and/or Healthcare systems administration. Proficiency in front end user functionality in Electronic Medical Records and/or systems management and data reporting.
Other Credentials:    
Knowledge and Skills:    Detailed oriented with an emphasis in handling multiple projects at once. Possesses high level understanding of clearinghouse functionalities, third-party portals, payor regulations and billing requirements, and government reimbursement programs. Ability to run and interpret billing, coding and revenue reports.
Special Training:    Intermediate Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Electronic Data Interchange claims submission evaluation and/or understanding required. Experience with Athena, Cerner, and/or Epic preferred.
Mental, Behavioral and Emotional Abilities:    Ability to effectively communicate, collaborate, and relate to the Information Technology team, Revenue Cycle vendors, and other departmental Revenue Cycle leaders.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Creates, maintains, and manages users and their access to Revenue Cycle applications not managed by the Capital IT team.
Acts as System Administrator for all third-party portals and websites used by the Revenue Cycle team, including assigning/terminating access, auditing access, and communicating updates regarding those applications not managed by the Capital IT team.
Serves as a subject matter expert for the Electronic Medical Records applications and other platforms used by the Revenue Cycle department.
Organizes, reviews, and triages requests and tickets as it pertains to Capital IT team and external software/application vendors.
Aids in review of EDI transactions and technical troubleshooting of claims submission and Revenue Cycle application functionality.
Assists with system user training, trouble shooting, software testing and implementation, where needed to improve system adoption and accuracy across the revenue cycle team.
Supports Revenue Cycle leadership with implementations and integration projects for new technologies, automation, or system enhancements, including organizing, tracking, and in some cases performing tasks assigned to the Revenue Cycle team.
Thoroughly understands and utilizes electronic health record systems' reporting and operating capabilities.
Collaborates with the mapping of current state, identifying gaps and enhancements needed in collaboration with IT Rev cycle analyst.
Serves as the point person for Revenue Cycle process and application user questions for current and new Revenue Cycle team members
Acts as communication business partner between cross functional teams on behalf of Revenue Cycle to ensure ongoing education, training and timely problem resolution.
Communicates with Capital Information IT Interface team on application interface issues affecting timely billing
Creates and maintains a clear communication strategy and proactively facilitates, and/or participates in both internal and external meetings pertaining to duties described above.
