The Retirement Living Lifestyle and Activities Coordinator is responsible for arranging regular activities for residents within the village as well as larger events and excursions. The Coordinator is also responsible for the publishing of the monthly newsletter, including content creation, design, formatting and printing.
In this role you will:
Welcome new residents by handling activity enquiries and supporting their settling‑in period.
Plan, promote and deliver the monthly social program, including researching new activity ideas and community opportunities.
Coordinate regular activities such as Friday Lunches, resident outings, cinema sessions and pop‑up shops, ensuring bookings, logistics and insurance requirements are met.
Support resident groups with administrative needs and communicate reminders or updates about upcoming activities and events.
Organise transport arrangements for residents attending external activities within the local community.
Create, coordinate and distribute the monthly resident newsletter, liaising with contributors and external printers.
Coordinate resident events, including budgeting, booking procedures, supplier liaison and verification of public liability insurance.
Work with the RSL communications team on significant commemorative events such as ANZAC Day and Remembrance Day.
We need you to be able to:
Demonstrate strong teamwork, open communication and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively while managing competing priorities.
Provide warm, engaging customer service with excellent interpersonal skills, compassion and empathy for older residents.
Apply advanced written and verbal communication skills, along with high computer literacy across MS Office, desktop publishing, Canva and Adobe design tools.
Bring strong organisation, time management, attention to detail and the ability to handle confidential information and meet deadlines.
Contribute creative thinking by researching new ideas, offering fresh perspectives, supporting event management and leading the monthly “What’s On” resident meeting.
Show initiative, motivation and a passion for creating meaningful, stimulating activities and events that enhance residents’ wellbeing.
