SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

Jotun Kenya is seeking an experienced and professional Retail Sales Manager to join our Decorative Retail Sales team and drive sustainable growth initiatives.

The role is ideal for a resilient and results‑driven sales professional who thrives on building strong, quality customer partnerships and delivering results.

The selected candidate will manage Decorative Retail sales activities and promote our Decorative products in Kenya, by applying Jotun’s sales tools and techniques to target quality dealers and deliver on ambitious sales, gross margin and collection targets, with the aim of increasing Jotun market share and profitability in Kenya.

This position will be based in Nairobi, Kenya and will report to the Sales & Marketing Manager- Decorative.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for market mapping and expansion in Kenya by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors to increase Jotun's market share.

  • Guide and lead the retail sales team in Kenya by coaching, monitoring, and supervising daily activities in line with Jotun's Penguin Spirit to ensure the achievement of team objectives.

  • Work closely with internal stakeholders by having consistent updates and clear understanding to meet customer needs and smooth workflow.

  • Evaluate and follow up on team objectives statuses, sales targets, collections, etc.

  • Visit existing and new dealers with the retail team to follow up and assist in deliveries, resolve bottom-line concerns, and ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Consolidate and analyze monthly sales and collection reports and take improvement actions.

  • Conduct periodic performance reviews and feedback sessions with employees as required with Performance Management tools.

Education and Experience Qualifications:

  • At a minimum, a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/ Commerce or other related fields.

  • No less than 7 years' experience in Retail Sales and Marketing/ Business Development/ Key Account Management.

  • Understanding and experience in construction industry, paint or building materials is essential.

  • A strong communicator, able to inspire and, build and maintain relationships with key project stakeholders like architects, consultants etc.

  • Strong retail business acumen to drive growth and profitability.

  • Must currently be residing and legally authorized to work in Kenya.
