Position Summary
The Retail Field Audit Quality Control Specialist is responsible for playing an audit project leadership role in the completion of the department’s compliance, operational and tech audit plans, focused on customer experience and the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls.
Primary Functions
- Under the supervision of a Retail Field Audit Supervisor, serve as a first-line reviewer of project workpapers, ensuring adherence to the documentation standards of the department:
- Provide clear, actionable review notes when documentation is missing, unclear or does not support the conclusions reached by the auditor;
- Review resubmitted work to ensure any review notes have been addressed prior to providing the process owners reporting.
- Ensure all worksteps are completed prior to project finalization and report issuance.
- Upon finalization of project, complete the process to archive the project in the audit workpaper software.
- Develop subject matter expertise and auditing skillset in planning, testing, work paper development, and report writing.
- Provide objective feedback to department management regarding the technical performance of auditors as part of the creation of team member development plans.
- Participate in the development and delivery
- Participate in the creation of internal audit project templates to enhance auditor efficiency and effectiveness, as well as conform to relevant professional standards.
- Upon request of auditors or department management, prepares and distributes ad-hoc reporting.
- Complete training to develop audit skills and work towards achieving or maintaining professional certifications.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, or general business; or equivalent practical experience
- 3-5 years of related work experience in professional compliance, technology, or operational auditing in a related industry a plus.
- CPA, CIA, CFE, CISA, ISO 9001, PMP or other relevant certifications, or working toward certifications, preferred.
- Proficient in Office 365 applications including Excel and Word.
- Experience in AuditBoard, preferred.
- Detail oriented and able to manage multiple deadlines, complete tasks timely, and follow up as needed to complete projects within time and schedule budgets.
- Collaborative, practical approach to interactions with business partners.
- Ability to communicate effectively across multiple levels of management and staff.
- Applicants who have a family member employed by Clayton (or other relationship presenting a conflict of interest) may not be considered.
- Must be able to travel up to 15% and work onsite at Clayton’s Maryville office 3 days per week.
