Our buying roles cover a wide range of categories, including:
Buyer
Join our dynamic Commercial team and play a key role in shaping the commercial buying strategy for our Categories across our extensive network of 200+ retail pharmacies.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy Development: Lead the development and execution of the commercial strategy for different Consumer categories
Promotional Planning: Drive the promotional cycle development for our Symbol pharmacies.
Trade Representation: Actively participate in weekly trade meetings, representing the commercial team.
Product Sourcing & Ranging: Collaborate with the Uniphar Consumer team to identify and source best-in-class products for our Symbol pharmacies.
Performance Analysis: Review promotion performance, providing valuable insights to the management team.
Planogram Implementation: Ensure the effective roll-out of planograms and related support materials.
Communication: Clearly communicate all commercial strategies to our Operations teams.
Supplier Management: Develop and manage strong supplier relationships to achieve Joint Business Plan (JBP) and planogram compliance.
Data-Driven Insights: Utilize our BI reporting suite to generate insightful analysis of category and range performance, supporting informed decision-making.
Industry Engagement: Represent the commercial support team at trade shows and supplier events.
Operational Collaboration: Work closely with the Operations team to strengthen relationships with our symbol and franchise members, driving their business growth.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Contribute to the efficient daily operations of the Commercial buying team.
Ensure the achievement of group sales, margin, and JBP budgets.
Manage stock levels for Front of Counter (FOC) categories within our owned estate, including managing dead, over, and dated stock, and supporting stores with sell-through initiatives.
Provide regular updates to the Senior Buyer on departmental progress.
Actively participate in weekly commercial team meetings.
Ensure timely and prioritized meetings with suppliers based on importance.
Maintain accurate retail pricing aligned with departmental margin targets and market pricing within the database.
Ensure the database team has all necessary supplier and pricing information for relevant categories.
Develop a robust promotions calendar incorporating JBP agreements.
Develop comprehensive category plans and strategies.
Ensure timely updates to planograms according to schedule.
Attend trade shows as required.
Contribute relevant information for board packs
Attend weekly Uniphar commercial meetings.
Collaborate closely with the Operations team to effectively deliver our commercial strategy to our owned, franchise, and symbol members.
Key Skills & Experience:
Minimum of 3+ years of experience in a similar buying role.
Pharmacy or Beauty buying experience is desirable but not essential.
Excellent numerical and analytical skills, including strong computer literacy and comprehensive experience with MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.).
Proven ability to thrive in a diverse and fast-paced environment.
