What this opportunity involves:

The Retail Asset Manager is responsible for the centre manager function and day to day management of a luxury and exclusive shopping, F&B and function precinct in Sydneys CBD along with acting as the retail manager at an additional CBD shopping centre. This role requires providing exceptional service standards befitting luxury and exclusive retail and event locations in the heart of the CBD.

In order to provide a high level of client satisfaction, the Retail Asset Manager is required to always be thinking two steps ahead and understanding the fundamentals of their assets. The role directly oversees functions including the compilation and delivery of business plans, budgets and forecasts, reporting, retail lease compliance including all lease associated payments, debt management, retail store liaison, regular & accurate client reporting and stakeholder management across both premium locations.

A snapshot of the role:

  • Ensure delivery of business plan objectives and budgets for both properties

  • Add value to the investment through strategic asset management

  • Manage direct reports and on-site staff across both locations, including coaching, performance management, goal setting and development planning

  • Ensure rent collection by due dates (1st of each month)

  • Prepare client-specific weekly arrears reports (due each Wednesday)

  • Prepare and issue client approval summaries for payment release (twice monthly)

  • Manage contract work orders annually in advance for accurate accrual reporting

  • Assist Senior Portfolio Accountant with month-end processes

  • Process shared services invoices within 48 hours of receipt (by 16th of each month)

  • Maintain tenant and contractor records on site-specific filing systems

  • Collect and input sales data monthly (excluding GST) by 7th of each month

  • Provide on-demand services including regular weekly and monthly meetings

Before you apply it’s worth knowing what we are looking for:

  • Experience in managing premium retail assets

  • Proven ability to lead teams of contractors and operations staff

  • Excellent customer relationship building skills

  • Strong stakeholder management capabilities

  • Ability to identify opportunities that drive income streams and centre performance

  • Understanding of luxury retail and event location requirements

  • Experience with premium CBD retail environments
