Champion a culture of safety through daily reviews and compliance with NSC standards.
Lead and mentor technicians and apprentices, providing coaching and performance feedback.
Oversee job planning and execution, ensuring repairs align with scope and quality standards.
Act as a communication link between shop floor and customer-facing teams.
Support warranty and repair processes, including documentation and claim management.
Drive continuous improvement by identifying safety and process opportunities.
Ensure compliance with SOPs, timecard accuracy, and contamination control protocols.
Contribute to operational KPIs including safety, customer satisfaction, and productivity.
Day-to-Day Activities:
Oversee shop floor and field operations to ensure safety and quality standards are met.
Engage with technicians to resolve technical and tooling issues promptly.
Monitor KPIs related to productivity, safety, and customer satisfaction.
Conduct performance conversations and provide feedback to team members.
Ensure accurate completion of timecards and service reports.
Participate in safety meetings and lead toolbox talks.
Requirements:
Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification.
Minimum 4 years of experience with Caterpillar equipment and engines.
Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
Knowledge of NSC regulations, warranty processes, and contamination control.
Understanding of JHA principles and safety compliance.
Familiarity with collective agreements and performance management processes.
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Strong business acumen and ability to interpret KPIs related to branch profitability.
