About the Role

As a Respiratory Therapist with Apria, you’ll support patients across the Pensacola, FL and Mobile, AL regions, with Birmingham as backup only in emergencies. This role is primarily office-based (90%), with occasional field visits to support patient needs. You’ll be the sole RT for this branch, offering both autonomy and the opportunity to make a strong impact on patient care.

This position requires both Florida and Alabama RT licenses. If you currently hold only a Florida license, Apria will cover the cost of obtaining the Alabama license.

Key Highlights

  • Coverage: Pensacola, FL + Mobile, AL; Birmingham (emergencies only).

  • Work Breakdown: 90% office / 10% road.

Schedule

  • Monday–Friday

  • 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Salary Range

  • $25 – $32 per hour (depending on experience)

What You’ll Do

  • Support and retain patients in active service.

  • Conduct new patient setups (office or in-house as needed).

  • Follow up with patients to ensure success with respiratory equipment.

  • Manage patient paperwork, documentation, and compliance requirements.

  • Provide troubleshooting equipment and education.

  • Coordinate with internal teams to maintain seamless patient care.

  • Provide emergency backup coverage for Birmingham as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Respiratory Therapist with an active Florida and Alabama RT license (Apria pays for AL licensure if needed).

  • Strong multitasking ability.

  • Compassion, empathy, and a patient-centered approach.

  • Positive attitude.

  • Reliable, organized, and highly independent.

  • Valid driver’s license.
