Respiratory Therapist (CRT/RRT) - Northlake Pulmonary

JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Scheduled Weekly Hours: TBD

Work Shift: PRN (as needed)

Summary of the Job:  
Responsible for the performance of all Pulmonary Function test, Spirometry, 6 minute walking test, and desaturation walks with complete understanding of the equipment, supplies, indications/contraindications for use, and physiological effects upon the patient. Assists with help administering nebulizer treatments as needed. 
 
Minimum qualifications:

Successful completion of an AMA approved school of Respiratory Therapy/Cardiopulmonary Science. Pulmonary Function testing experience. Current Certification by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered or Certified Respiratory therapist. Current license by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners as a licensed respiratory therapist. Current BLS certification through any International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) provided courses such as but not limited to:  Ochsner Health System, American Heart Association, and American Red Cross.  The ILCOR course must include a manikin check off

Physical Demands:
Must possess good physical health.  Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time.  Lifting at least 50 pounds is required.  Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.
Physical Effort required:        
Constant (67%-100%) - talking, hearing, seeing
Frequently (34%-66%)- stooping, crouching, reaching, handling/feeling
Occasionally (1%-33%)- lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, climbing (stairs, ladders, etc.), balancing
