$19.80 - $29.70Major Responsibilities: Assists the Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) with the movement of patients and equipment. 1)Assist with the transfer and relocation of equipment and patients between patient care areas. 2)Complete equipment rounds on each patient care unit. 3)Check patient oxygen and humidification equipment. 4)Determine patient utilization of equipment, check for proper equipment function and prescribed settings, replace and replenish patient care supplies. 5)Completes documentation regarding the utilization of low-flow oxygen and continuous humidity within the Respiratory Care information system (Electronic Medical Record). Maintains emergency equipment supplies on the patient care unit. 2)Checks and replenishes appropriate par cart levels of patient care supplies on the patient care units. Including par carts in ICU and ER. 1)Checks emergency “crash cart” supplies. Assures that functional emergency oxygen tanks and sealed respiratory care equipment boxes are properly placed on each cart. Completes equipment processing. 1)Equipment is decontaminated per departmental procedure 2)Patient care supplies are processed and delivered to Central Processing for appropriate method of decontamination and sterilization 3)Equipment is set-up and prepared for patient use Ventilator's are set-up and tested for patient use 4)Oxygen flow meters and regulators are checked for proper function and flow rate accuracy. Maintains patient care supplies in the Respiratory Care department. 1)Replaces stock items, and assists with monitoring stock supply levels. 2)Assists with maintaining the general cleanliness of the department. 3)Enters patient care orders and completes documentation of activities in Electronic Medical Record. Education/Experience Required: • High school graduate. • 1 year experience in hospital support services Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required: • Good communication skills. • not applicable Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: • Ability to work weekends, and holidays. • Able to wheel heavy equipment throughout the hospital. • Frequent, medium intensity lifting. If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available.
