Job Summary
Are you ready to shape the future of energy? Join American Electric Power’s Integrated Resource Planning (IRP) team and play a pivotal role in transforming how we meet growing electricity demands across our service territories. As a Resource Planning Analyst, you’ll be at the forefront of evaluating and optimizing the mix of power generation resources including renewables, battery energy storage systems (BESS), nuclear resources including small modular nuclear reactors, gas turbines, and emerging technologies that will power millions of homes and businesses.Job Description
WHAT YOU'LL DO
This position is considered an expert in this area within the organization and will initiate, direct and complete power generation resource planning activities including the preparation of inputs to, and the analysis of outputs from, detailed production cost and resource optimization models and the associated analyses for existing and new generation resources, energy efficiency alternatives, fuel and purchased power projections used in Integrated Resource Planning filings, Request for Proposal (RFP) evaluations, corporate strategy discussions, Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity (CPCN) filings, and other regulatory proceedings.

Resource Planning Analyst Senior: base salary = $87K - $108K
Education: Bachelor’s degree in an analytical field such as engineering, mathematics, computer science, or business (e.g. accounting, finance, economics)
Experience:

Resource Planning Analyst Principal: base salary = $99K - $127K
Education: Bachelor's degree in an analytical field such as engineering, mathematics, computer science, or business (e.g. accounting, finance, economics)
