Resource Management Associate Director (Consulting)

RSM US LLP is looking for a dynamic Resource Management Associate Director to join the organization! The Resource Management Associate Director will bridge the gap between strategic direction and operational execution. The Associate Director will ensure the tactical delivery of resource plans and owns the day-to-day heal of resourcing outcomes.  Driven by the business needs of the organization, the Resource Management Associate Director may have direct responsibility for people scheduling support.  The Resource Management Associate Director will play a significant role in supporting project demand fulfillment. The Associate Director may lead a high-functioning part of the organization and/or play a leadership role within a Resource management team. The Associate Director will be responsible for team management and coaching of more junior resource managers.

Essential Duties

The Resource Management Associate Director provides support of the resource management function including, but not limited to:

  • Translate strategic direction and recommendations into executable staffing plans.
  • Escalate and resolve resource conflicts quickly and equitably.
  • Partner with Directors to prepare insights and metrics for leadership consumption.
  • Work closely with Talent and HR to manage redeployments, rotations, and bench activation.
  • Play an active role in FTE management, keeping a watchful eye on fulfilment requests, turnover rates, necessary quarterly adjustments to plan, and other FTE related items that will impact capacity to delivery services.

Implements and collaborates on development of strategies for engagement management and scheduling processes with an Enterprise lens.

  • Understands business needs, strategy, offerings/products and challenges; maintains a focus on supporting the goals and initiatives of each.
  • Utilizing, sharing, and developing best practices, staying up to date on market trends and upgrades of scheduling technology offerings for effectiveness.
  • Coordinating resource sharing across Resource Managers, functional teams, and other business units.
  • Effectively researching, documenting, analyzing, and interpreting information based on expectations, adapting approach when necessary, and using problem-solving and analytical skills to develop and share recommendations and solutions.
  • Identifying trends to proactively balance workloads while increasing utilization, and providing various forms of analysis including financial, profitability, and exception reporting.

Serve as Performance Advisor, providing oversight of the daily responsibilities of Resource Management team.

Coach Managers to maintain process excellence, data accuracy, and responsiveness.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

  • Bachelors Degree – Preferred or 8-10 years of professional services experience in a related functional area (Resource Management, Talent/Workforce Planning, Scheduling Services)

EXPERIENCE

  • 6-8 years of Resource Management, Talent/Workforce Planning, or Scheduling Services in a professional services environment - REQUIRED
  • Previous experience with Dayshape – Preferred
  • Previous experience in service delivery for an accounting or consulting firm – Preferred

SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong Microsoft office skills, specifically with Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to communicate both verbally and written with diverse audiences at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends and make business recommendations based on facts
  • Effective organization and time management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Operate with a client first focus, driving decisions based on a balance of business need and changing environment
  • Ability to respond positively and with agility as business conditions shift and serve as a change agent to bring others along the decision path
  • Operates with a sense of urgency
  • Ability to facilitate collaborative discussions regarding resource assignment, utilization and gap analysis between resource managers and leaders
  • Ability to drive collaboration and communication between teams
  • Process driven and ability to help train/drive/develop these processes to create unity and consistency across the enterprise

At RSM, an employee’s pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Compensation Range: $120,000 - $205,200

Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
