Summary:
The Resource Librarian is a specialized professional responsible for the management, acquisition, and accessibility of a library’s digital and physical assets. This role focuses heavily on the "lifecycle" of resources—from learning and securing new resource product info/samples from manufacturers and vendors to ensuring employees and customers can actually find and use materials through physical and online inventories.

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:
Resource Library Management
- Maintain and organize the material library, including fabrics, laminates, veneers, plastics, metals, glass, and ancillary finish samples
- Ensure all materials are properly labeled, categorized, and up to date
- Remove discontinued or outdated materials and coordinate replacement samples
- Work with manufacturer representatives to maintain updated sample decks and literature
Sample Ordering & Tracking
- Process and manage sample requests from sales and design teams
- Order physical samples (memos, swatches, finish chips, full-size samples) from manufacturers
- Track shipments and follow up on delivery timelines
- Prioritize and coordinate expedited and overnight sample requests
- Verify finish information prior to ordering to ensure accuracy
Inventory Control
- Monitor sample inventory levels and reorder as needed
- Conduct routine audits to ensure organization and completeness
- Maintain storage areas to keep materials accessible and orderly
Project & Team Support
- Assist with preparation of finish packages for client presentations
- Provide alternative finish options when materials are discontinued or unavailable
- Ensure project teams receive materials in a timely manner
