Job Summary: This National Guard position is for a RESILIENCE AND RISK REDUCTION PROGRAM COORDINATOR (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D1990P01 and is part of the FL JFHQ, National Guard.

Major Duties:

  • As a Resilience and Risk Reduction Program Coordinator, GS-0101-11, you will perform duties as the Resilience and Risk Reduction Program Coordinator that requires the incumbent to analyze trends by utilizing qualitative and quantitative measures to ensure the effective implementation of the Program. Utilizes scholastic research that encompass principles, theories, and findings in industrial/organizational psychology, psychometrics, experimental design/evaluation methodology, education and training technology, and cognitive psychology in order to modify, revise, improve or create ARNG programs. Monitors strategies and objectives to ensure they are effective, complete, comprehensive, and compatible toward achieving identified goals. Recommends, develops, coordinates, and disseminates policies and ARNG guidelines for administration and management of these programs to include doctrinal development. Provides senior leadership with statistical reports. Reviews national and international resilience, risk reduction and suicide prevention initiatives, and considers applicability for ARNG. Maintains ARNG wide suicide surveillance to establish any emergent high-risk trends and/or provide early warning when possible factors might lead to increased suicides. Participates with military and other government agencies in the definition of research requirements, the planning for research utilization, establishment of objectives and policies pertaining to risk reduction, and suicide prevention. Prepares and delivers oral presentations to include briefings, speeches, and training sessions to civilian, and military audiences in areas of technical expertise. Provides direct guidance and support to ARNG personnel in support of the mission. Conducts and/or participates in inspections, staff assistance visits, special advisory teams; provides papers and presents briefings.

Qualifications: AREA OF CONSIDERATION: This position is in the Excepted Federal Civil Service "under the authority of 32 U.S.C. 709" and is open to Category 1 & 3 Only. Category 1: All permanent/indefinite (T32 and T5) technicians employed by the agency WITH dual FL National Guard military membership; Category 3: All current military members of the Florida National Guard. PCS: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs, MAY be authorized. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard. Recruitment / Relocation: Incentive MAY be authorized. ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard. FLNG BUS Code 8888: This position is "excluded" and ineligible for labor organization representation. MILITARY GRADES: Officer/Warrant Officer/Enlisted: E7 thru O4 GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have a degree in behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position that included at least 24 semester hours of course work in the behavioral or social sciences. Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field that included at least 24 semester hours of course work in the behavioral or social sciences. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS11, Must have at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-09 level or the equivalent which provides knowledge and/or experience, education or training analyzing problems, identifying significant factors, gathering pertinent data and recognizing solutions; preparing reports, plans, policies and various correspondence; evaluating objectives and develop plans to facilitate the availability and effective utilization of various social science resources. Must have knowledge of the organization and its mission and utilized the organizational staff procedures. Experience applying analytical and evaluative techniques to issues or studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of social science program operations carried out by administrative or professional personnel, or substantive administrative support functions.
