The Opportunity:
The Resident Advisor (RA) for the Upward Bound Program at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University's Prescott campus plays a critical role in fostering a supportive and inclusive living environment for high school students enrolled in the program for six weeks during the summer session. The RA is responsible for promoting academic success, personal growth, and community engagement among program participants through mentorship, guidance, and program facilitation.
The tentative planned dates for the Summer Program of Upward Bound are June 8th – July 18th, 2026
Mandatory training for this position is scheduled May 26th through June 5th, 2026 (off on Memorial Day, Friday May 29th and Friday, June 5th. All Weekends during program dates off except for Move in Night scheduled for Sunday June 7th.
Responsibilities:
Out-of-State Trip: Week 6th of the Upward Bound Program
As part of the enriching experience offered by the Upward Bound Program at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University's Prescott campus, an out-of-state trip is organized during the sixth week of the program. This trip is designed to broaden participants' horizons, expose them to college campuses in an adjacent state, and provide hands-on learning opportunities that align with the program's educational objectives.
During the sixth week of the Upward Bound Program at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University's Prescott campus, RAs take on the crucial role of chaperoning a program trip. As chaperones, RAs are responsible for ensuring the safety, well-being, and engagement of program participants during all activities. They maintain adherence to schedules, provide guidance during interactions and discussions, and respond effectively to any emergent situations. RAs serve as approachable mentors, facilitating meaningful connections between experiences and personal growth, and fostering a positive and inclusive atmosphere throughout the trip.

Compensation:
This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Compensation includes a stipend for the six-week Summer Session in the amount of $2,800.00, on-campus housing and a meal plan during work hours on Monday through Friday for the duration of the Upward Bound Program.
