Job Description:

Research & Technology Contract Manager

Airbus Helicopters is looking for a Research and Technology Contract Manager (f/m) based in Getafe, Spain. We are looking for a key player to transform our technological roadmaps into reality by ensuring the successful funding and execution of our R&T projects in Spain.

The position is functionally attached to the Head of Engineering Spain (EBST) and reports operationally to the Research and Innovation Leader in Spain (ETR).

Your working environment:

You will be based in Getafe, in close proximity to other divisions of the Airbus Group. The interest of this location is to develop cross divisional synergies. You will be in close contact with AH facilities in Albacete.

You will have permanent contact with all other organisations of EBS & ET and within AH (strategy, business, finance, HR, communication, legal...).

Your challenges:

  • Bid Preparation: Lead the preparation of high-quality proposals for National and European funding bodies, coordinating inputs from the Engineering Centres of Competence (CoCs) and relevant functions.

  • Contractual Negotiation: Draft and negotiate Grant Agreements with funding bodies and Consortium Agreements with partners to secure Airbus Helicopters' interests and strategic alignment.

  • Contract Management: Lead the operational execution -in time, cost, and quality- of the R&T projects under your responsibility, ensuring full compliance with funding body regulations.

  • Risk Management: Control project risks and opportunities, secure effective change management, and trigger claims for contract payments.

  • Grant Justification: Act as the primary lead for the submission of periodic financial and technical reports, ensuring all deliverables meet contract standards and all expenses are eligible and auditable.

  • Technology Transfer: Support the transition from R&T to R&D with the CoCs, anticipating risks and ensuring the transfer is integrated into their strategic development.

  • Intellectual Property (IP): Under the lead of the Head of IP, ensure the protection of knowledge and Intellectual Property generated within Airbus Helicopters Spain.

  • Communication: Support the R&I Lead and the Head of Engineering Spain in technical and administrative communications with public bodies and external stakeholders.

Your profile:

  • Experience: More than 5 years of professional experience, with at least 3 years in a role directly relevant to R&T contract or grant management.

  • Language & Culture: Native Spanish speaker with a deep understanding of Spanish culture and fluency in English.

  • Technical Background: Strong aeronautical technical background combined with robust project management experience.

  • Leadership & Agility: Demonstrated capacity to work in cross-organizational contexts and manage heterogeneous teams with an agility mindset.

  • Autonomy: Ability to manage complex projects autonomously with minimal close support.

  • Public Affairs: Strong relationship capabilities to connect with new actors and deal with funding bodies to defend project proposals.

Integrity: A strong commitment to acting with integrity and identifying compliance risks to protect the company's reputation.
