The Research Technician I, under general supervision performs entry level, semi-skilled, technical support research work involving performance of routine tasks. Maintains laboratory operations involving preparation of glassware, laboratory equipment maintenance, maintaining research supplies.

Schedule: Part-time / This position is not benefits eligible.
Location: Houston, Texas
Required Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Two years of related experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent Interpersonal, oral and written communication skills in English.
Able to comprehend and follow both written and verbal Instructions.
Ability to perform independent research.
Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
Responsibilities:
Research Technical Support
Assembles and operates technical equipment.
Collect and compiles data.
Maintains laboratory inventory, including ordering and cataloging of laboratory supplies
Maintains laboratory equipment, including safety equipment and supplies
Research Procedure Support
Assist with preparation of materials to be used in research
Collects samples and measurement data from experiments. Implements and maintains data collection and summarization of study results.
Assist senior staff members in conducting laboratory and animal experiments
Dispose of laboratory waste according to laboratory and university requirements
Assists with animal experiments, when needed
Performs other duties as assigned.
Training
Participates in training and professional development sessions as needed.
