Full-time, fixed-term position for 5 years
Base salary will range from $114,824 - $136,048 (Academic Level B) + 17% Superannuation
Based at our Dutton Park campus
This is an exciting opportunity for a Research Fellow, specialising in opioid pharmacology and/or opioid drug design, to join our world-leading School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. Play a pivotal role in driving this vital research at UQ by managing the opioid drug discovery laboratory with Professor Peter Cabot.
Key responsibilities will include:
Research: Develop an independent research program to achieve national recognition, collaborate on team research projects, seek and manage research funding, publish in reputable journals and utilise best practice research methodologies.
Supervision and Researcher Development: Supervise Honours and HDR students, develop researcher capability and skill, and provide performance feedback, coaching and training.
Citizenship and Service: Pursue and develop partnerships, engage in internal and external service roles, provide support to colleagues, and uphold university values.

Completion of a PhD in pharmaceutical sciences.
A growing profile of research in opioid pharmacology and/or opioid drug discovery.
A developing reputation and track record of publications in reputed refereed journals and presenting at conferences.
Evidence of successfully seeking, obtaining and managing external research funding.
A growing record of supervision of Honours and Research Higher Degree students to successful completion.
Experience in meaningful internal service roles in conjunction with active contributions to external activities.
