This position supports frontier research in the electrocatalysis of hydrogen carrier molecules, with an emphasis on elucidating how catalyst structure, composition, and electronic properties govern electrochemical activity and selectivity. The successful candidate will contribute to the design and development of heterogeneous electrocatalytic systems for the activation and transformation of hydrogen carrier molecules. Depending on experience, the candidate may also lead independent research projects aligned with the team’s scientific objectives, while contributing to day-to-day experimental work and electrochemical data analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and conduct experiments related to the catalysis of hydrogen carrier molecules, including catalyst synthesis, activation, and evaluation of catalytic performance.

  • Perform advanced material characterization using techniques such as transmission electron microscopy (TEM), atomic force microscopy (AFM), and X-ray diffraction (XRD), etc.

  • Prepare manuscripts, reports, and presentations for internal discussions and external publication.

  • Contribute to lab organization, safety, and equipment maintenance.

Job Requirement:

  • A PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field

  • Research experience in heterogeneous catalysis, with knowledge in catalyst synthesis and activation of hydrogen carrier molecules (e.g., liquid organic hydrogen carriers or related small molecules)

  • Proficiency in materials characterization techniques such as TEM, AFM, and XRD, etc.

  • Strong analytical thinking, independent research ability, and publication record in high-impact journals

  • Effective teamwork and communication skills, including the ability to train and guide junior researchers

  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
