Established in 2010, the Energy Research Institute @ NTU (ERI@N) is a pan-university research institute that focuses on systems-level research for tropical megacities. It performs translational research that covers the energy value chain from generation to innovative end-use solutions, motivated by industrialisation and deployment. ERI@N has multiple Interdisciplinary Research Programmes which focus on translational Research, Development & Deployment which focus on specific area of the energy value chain, and a number of Living labs and Testbeds which facilitate large scale technology deployment enabling validation and demonstration of real-world applications.
We are looking for a Research Fellow to work on a project in the area of cyber-physical security analysis of modern power grids. The role will focus on cyber-physical modeling, simulation, and security assessment method development.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop a high-fidelity Digital twin platform for modern power grid systems with coupled cyber-physical interaction layers.
Simulate and access various cyber-attack vectors (e.g., data injection, remote control hijacking, protocol spoofing) to support power grid cyber-physical security assessment
Provide an interface for external solution provides to test cybersecurity products virtually.
Integrate with a Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) platform for co-simulation tests on individual components in the power system.
Job Requirements:
PhD degree in Electrical Engineering or related subjects.
Expert knowledge in power system modeling and simulation
Research experience with power system cyber-physical modeling and simulation.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English - essential for data analysis and communication with stakeholders
Strong analytical and conceptual abilities.
Relevant industry working experience is highly preferred.
Able to work independently and in a team to realize proposed research work.
