Established in 2010, the Energy Research Institute @ NTU (ERI@N) is a pan-university research institute that focuses on systems-level research for tropical megacities. It performs translational research that covers the energy value chain from generation to innovative end-use solutions, motivated by industrialisation and deployment. ERI@N has multiple Interdisciplinary Research Programmes which focus on translational Research, Development & Deployment which focus on specific area of the energy value chain, and a number of Living labs and Testbeds which facilitate large scale technology deployment enabling validation and demonstration of real-world applications.

We are looking for a Research Fellow to develop high performance and economical catalyst systems to convert biomass to fuel by thermal catalytic processes. The role will focus on catalyst development, performance evaluation, and mechanistic understanding via detailed characterizations
Key Responsibilities:
Literature study
Research planning
Experimental synthesis of catalysts
Testing catalyst performance using high-pressure reactors
Catalyst characterization
Reporting, and manuscript writing
Job Requirements:
Master/PhD qualification degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials chemistry or related field
At least 2 years of relevant experiences in thermal catalyst development and hands-on experience running thermal reactions.
Familiarity with GC, HPLC and materials characterization methods
Prior experience related to nickel based catalysts for hydro-processing will be evaluated favorably
Good communication skills
