Population Health - Mueller ResearchJob Duties Outlined:
Perform descriptive and model-based analyses to support health service utilization and outcomes assessment(s).
Generate clear, publication-quality visualizations and tables to communicate analytic findings to a wide audience, including policy audiences and community stakeholders.
Identify analytic needs of research questions; design and execute analyses that provide meaningful and actionable answers.
Clean, organize, and link multiple large datasets and ensure reproducibility and data integrity.
Assist with interpretation of results and dissemination of findings through preparation of reports, journal articles, presentations, and other scholarly outputs. Specifically, contributions towards analytic design and support.
Assist with IRB and other regulatory requirements (e.g., data use agreements)

Required Qualifications:
Work Experience:
Six (6) years of experience working with large secondary datasets (E.g. administrative claims data (Medicare, Medicaid), national survey data). Education may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Experience and proficiency with one or more statistical software packages (SAS, R, Python, STATA), including data visualization.
Preferred Qualifications:
Education: Master’s degree in biostatistics or statistics, data science, epidemiology, sociology, economics, health services research, public or population health, or a related field.
Work Experience:
Applied experience with or substantive knowledge of the U.S. health care system and U.S. health policy landscape, including baseline understanding of state and federal health insurance programs inclusive of Medicare, Medicaid, and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP).
Evidence of scholarship in rural health service delivery, rural health, health services research, health policy.

Compensation Statement:
The pay range listed for this position is determined by our compensation program using market data and salary benchmarking. A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, education, experience and training, qualifications relative to the requirements of the position, and funding. At the University of Kansas Medical Center, a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range, taking into account the combination of factors listed above.
