As Research Computing Services Manager, you will support biomedical research that drives innovations in patient care by providing direction, supervision, and technical and financial oversight of non-desktop computing infrastructure for Cleveland Clinic Research. In this role, you will guide lead analysts across the Linux server, Windows server, database, storage, and software development teams to ensure research computing operations are efficient, secure, and reliable.
A caregiver in this position works days from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
This position is primarily remote, but does require coming on-site to Main Campus regularly depending on business needs.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Manage the non-desktop research computing infrastructure in the division and other divisions as assigned.
Develop standards, policies and procedures managing enterprise servers, storage, and databases.
Support the Director of Research Computing in strategic planning for providing non-desktop computing infrastructure anticipating and preparing for turnover of personnel and organizing the group appropriately to meet the changing demands of the environment.
Plan, schedule, and manage multiple projects requiring information system resources.
Monitor projects for adherence to schedule and budget, provides quality control oversight on all projects, and compiles statistics to predict future performance.
Plan and coordinate department moves, acquiring appropriate tools and equipment to facilitate exceptional job performance.
Supervise the Windows server administration, Linux server administration, data storage and backup, and server administration.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Science or related field and ten years’ experience in IT related position
OR Associate’s degree and twelve years of experience in IT-related position
OR Master’s degree in information systems, Science or related field and seven years of experience in IT-related position
Five years of managerial experience in an IT group such as general hardware and software management in a production scientific or corporate environment
Experience in deploying services in cloud only and/or hybrid cloud environments
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Experience in healthcare and/or scientific research contexts
Experience in regulated environments (financial, HIPAA, part 11, etc.)
Direct experience managing either Windows or Linux based servers, ideally in the context of high-performance computing environments
Expertise in hardware and software, providing and maintaining technology infrastructure to support research operations
Understanding of windows and database administration
Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods.
Ability to travel throughout the hospital system.
Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment.
Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information. Requirement 2
