The Position

The Opportunity 

At the Institute of Human Biology in Basel, you will join a multidisciplinary team dedicated to pioneering science and technology. In this role, you will be at the forefront of developing imaging and automation workflows for multiplexed single-cell genomic and spatial phenotyping of tissues and organoids. You will have the unique opportunity to design and implement cutting-edge technologies that directly impact our research outcomes.

  • Design and implement multiplexed immunohistochemistry and spatial transcriptomics workflows.

  • Develop and improve single-cell phenotyping technologies.

  • Coordinate complex collaborations across various research groups at the institute.

  • Manage liquid handling automation and high-content confocal microscopy systems.

  • Drive high-throughput microscopy initiatives to enhance data collection.

  • Oversee organoid and primary tissue histology processes.

  • Ensure data processing and maintenance align with FAIR principles.

  • Foster a collaborative team environment through proactive stakeholder management.

Who You Are 

You are a highly motivated and collaborative professional who thrives in a fast-paced, scientific environment. You bring a passion for technology and possess the social skills to work effectively within a diverse team.

  • Master’s degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 10 years of professional work experience in a laboratory or research setting.

  • Proven expertise in multiplexed immunohistochemistry and spatial genomics workflows.

  • Advanced proficiency in liquid handling automation and high-throughput microscopy.

  • Excellent communication skills with fluency in English (oral and written).
